An accomplished coach at the NCAA Division I level, Bethann Shapiro Ord begins her first season at Binghamton in 2018-19.
She arrives from Weber State where as the head coach, she rebuilt the Wildcat program and has steered it to a pair of seasons with at least 20 wins as well as national postseason appearances. Prior to arriving at Weber State, Shapiro Ord was an assistant coach for 22 years with several successful Division I women’s basketball programs in major conferences.
Under Shapiro Ord’s watch, the Wildcats went 57-41 the past three years, advanced to the Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBI) twice and attained the highest win total in program history (23 in 2015-16). Weber State finished this past season with a RPI of 150 out of 346 Division I programs. In the three years prior to Shapiro Ord’s arrival in 2011, Weber State did not win more than 10 games.
Shapiro Ord helped the Wildcats earn several top 20 national rankings in 2015-16. The Wildcats were ranked No. 17 in the country in steals per game averaging 10.5 a game and No. 9 in total steals with 366 on the season. WSU also ranked No. 20 that year in three point field goals made with 267 which is the most three pointers made in a single season in school history.
From 2007-11, Shapiro Ord was an assistant coach at Louisville. During that time, the Cardinals advanced to the Sweet 16 three times as well as the 2009 national title game. Shapiro Ord was instrumental in the Cardinals signing three Top 15 recruiting classes and one in the top five. She also helped bring two high school All-Americans to Louisville.
Before her years at Louisville, Shapiro Ord was an assistant coach at Colorado from 2005-07 and at Tulsa from 1999-05. The Golden Hurricanes reached the WNIT in both 2004 and 2005.
Shapiro Ord’s assistant coaching career also includes stops at Dayton (1997-98), Auburn (1996-97) and Pittsburgh (1992-96). Auburn won the 2007 SEC championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, advanced to the third round of the 1994 WNIT.
A 1989 graduate of UMBC, Shapiro Ord began her coaching career as an assistant at Nazareth during the 1989-90 campaign. She then spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Wagner (1990-92).
Throughout her coaching career, Shapiro Ord’s recruiting efforts have paid dividends. At Weber State, she landed six All-Big Sky selections including one Newcomer of the Year and one Defensive Player of the Year. As an assistant coach, she has recruited five WNBA draft picks including Angel McCoughtry, the 2009 top overall selection. In addition, Shapiro Ord has helped three different programs sign a total of seven recruiting classes that ranked among the top 40 nationally – including three in the top 15.
During her undergraduate career at UMBC, Shapiro Ord was a three-year starting point guard for the Retrievers. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and went on to earn her master’s degree in elementary education from Wagner in 1992.
Originally from Rochester, New York, she married Jim Ord in August 2003.
Devan Newman begins her second season as an assistant coach at Binghamton University in 2019-20. She has worked alongside the Bearcats' new head coach, Bethann Shapiro Ord for the past 11 years.
Newman was an assistant coach on Shaprio Ord's teams the previous seven years at Weber State. During that stretch, the Wildcats recorded a pair of 20-win seasons and advanced to the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) twice.
While at Weber State, Newman was a key part of the Wildcats' rise from a struggling program to one that went 57-41 from 2015-18. She developed five players who went on to play professionally after college and was a major part of the program's recruiting efforts.
Newman spent the previous three seasons at Louisville as a graduate assistant in 2008-09 and the Assistant Director of Operations from 2009-11. In her first season, Louisville advanced to the NCAA Championship game. Two years later, the Cardinals made the Sweet 16.
Newman received her master's degree in sport administration from Louisville in June of 2009. She earned her bachelor's degree in business administration, with a concentration in sports business, from the University of Oregon in 2007.

Regginald Daniels begins his first season as an assistant coach at Binghamton in 2022-23.
A 2015 graduate of Hood College, Daniels was the head coach at Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham during the 2021-22 season. He oversaw all aspects of the Devils' program during his tenure.
The previous two seasons (2019-21), Daniels was an assistant coach at Stevenson University. During that span, he helped lead the Mustangs to 20 wins as well as appearances in the semifinal round of both the MAC Commonwealth and ECAC Tournaments.
From 2017-19, Daniels was a graduate assistant coach for the women's basketball team at his alma mater. With the Blazers, Daniels assisted in all areas, including recruiting, game video breakdown, game planning, travel logistics and social media. Daniels also worked with the Maryland Belles 2020 AUU team during the 2018-19 season.
Before entering the college coaching level, Daniels was a coach at Patterson Mill High School from 2015-17. He served as the head coach of the boys' JV team and as an assistant on the boys' varsity team during that time.
Daniels played at Hood College from 2011-15. He ranks second in program history with 136 blocks and 105 games played.
Maggie Moore begins her third season with the Binghamton women's basketball program and her first as an assistant coach. She was the Coordinator of Player Development the past two seasons.
Moore came to Binghamton from the University of Albany, where she was a graduate assistant with the Great Danes' program from 2018-20.
While at Albany, she was involved with several facets of the Great Dane program, including recruiting, community outreach, running the scout team and video coordination. In addition, she served as the interim Coordinator of Player Development during her first season, until the position was filled in the spring of 2019.
A 2017 graduate of Edinboro, Moore was a four-year letterwinner on the women's basketball team. She was named both an Edinboro and PSAC Scholar-Athlete each season.
Moore earned her bachelor's degree in pre-veterinary medicine and minored in environmental science. She went on to earn her master's degree from Albany in education policy and leadership – with a concentration in higher education – in 2020
Originally from Olean, N.Y., Moore comes from a basketball family. Her father played at St. Bonaventure and Mansfield before coaching at Pitt-Bradford. Her brothers Zach, Sam, and Alex all played at Pitt-Bradford, with Zach finishing his career as a Graduate transfer at St. Bonaventure, while Sam and Alex transferred to Edinboro where they finished out their careers. In addition, her youngest brother Adam played on the Washington and Jefferson baseball team. Furthermore, her mother played soccer at St. Bonaventure.
Joey Raniero was hired by the Binghamton women's basketball program as its Director of Player Development/Video Coordinator in July 2022. He arrived from Temple University, where he worked on the staff of his alma mater since 2018.
At Temple, Raniero was the Video Coordinator since September 2018. In his role, he oversaw all film utilized by the coaching staff and implemented scout film for the players. He created film edits and opponent personnel scout film using programs such as Sportscode and Synergy Sports. Raniero also created videos for recruiting purposes on social media and for internal program use.
Raniero also assisted with building the Owls’ 2020-21 and 2021-22 non-conference schedules, which featured eight teams that played in either the NCAA Tournament or WNIT the previous year. In addition, he planned and executed walk-on tryouts prior to the 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons and recruited and managed 20+ male practice players during his four seasons on the staff.
A 2018 graduate of Temple – who went on to earn his Master’s Degree there in 2021 -Raniero was a practice player with the women's program each of his four years of undergraduate studies. He was a Player Development/Basketball Operations intern with the program his senior year as well. In addition to working for the women's basketball program at Temple University, Raniero has also worked at a variety of basketball camps including the Kyrie Irving and Michael Carter-Williams ProCamps, as well as Sixers Overnight camps.
Raniero also has several years of volunteer experience helping work the Danny Rumph Classic, which is a premier basketball tournament in Philadelphia. It is the signature event for the Daniel E. Rumph II Foundation which aims to bring awareness to Sudden Cardiac Arrest and to provide screening for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, the leading cause of Sudden Cardiac Arrest among young people.
Zakiya Saunders begins her first season with Binghamton in 2022-23 as its Director of Operations.
Saunders is no stranger to the America East, having played on three conference championship teams at the University of Albany from 2013-16. In her junior season (2015-16), she was named second-team all-conference and dished out a program-record 227 assists. Her 6.9 assists per game ranked sixth at the NCAA Division I level during that season.
Prior to the 2016-17 season, Saunders transferred to the University of Central Florida (UCF). After sitting out the season in accordance with the NCAA rules for transfers, she earned second-team all-conference honors in her final season (2017-18) and averaged a team-best 16.0 points per game. During her career at UCF, Saunders was also a basketball skills instructor for Hoop Dreams, which is based out of Orlando, Fla.
Following her graduation from UCF, Saunders played professionally in Sweden during the 2018-19 season and in Poland during the 2019-20 campaign.
At the AAU level, Saunders coached the Orlando Basketball Club (OBC) during the 2021-22 season.
